Registration open: Sustaining equitable Universal Health Coverage for key and vulnerable populations

The UNAIDS Regional Support Team and Asian Development Bank will host a side meeting ahead of the 2024 Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) in Bangkok, Thailand on January 22nd. The event will explore how countries can ensure access to health services by key populations and marginalized populations. Registration is open until January 15th.
Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is a Sustainable Development Goal for all people and
communities to have equitable access to quality health services where and when they need
them, without financial hardship. Health financing is a critical factor to achieving
this target by 2030. How health systems mobilize, accumulate, and allocate their funds to cover the
health needs of people must be anchored in the principles of equity and fairness.
Join expert panelists to examine the role of community leadership in health, and the role of
governments and multilateral financiers in developing and delivering equitable and sustainable
health financing that ensures a fair distribution of resources and services, reduces financial
barriers to health care, prioritizes the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized
populations, and ensures that resources are directed towards closing health gaps and ending
disparities.
In the midst of severe financial pressures, how can countries ensure access to health
services by key populations and marginalized people? Taking the example of the response
to HIV, what is the potential for domestic resources to meet domestic needs, equitably and
sustainably?
