BANGKOK, February 28, 2025—Accurate, recent HIV data are especially critical as countries in Asia and the Pacific respond to rising new infections and mobilise funding. Teams from twenty-three Asia Pacific countries have been trained and supported to generate updated estimates of their HIV epidemics and responses. Held in Bangkok, Thailand from February 24th to 28th, the regional workshop was hosted by UNAIDS with support from the Australian Government.

For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Asia Pacific country teams and development partners met in person in Bangkok, Thailand for the regional UNAIDS HIV estimates workshop. Huddled around laptops, groups came up with sometimes sobering national insights. 

BANGKOK, February 4, 2023—Twenty-two (22) countries in Asia and the Pacific received training and support to generate updated estimates of their HIV burden and antiretroviral treatment coverage.
