The Government of Viet Nam announced on 25 October its commitment to new targets intended to rapidly expand HIV treatment, thus becoming the first country in Asia to adopt the 90–90–90 targets.
Significant progress has been made in the Asia and the Pacific region towards reaching the targets of the 2011 United Nations Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS, and the region can aspire to ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
